2-18-12 Meeting Minutes @ Ingham EOC

Hours – Send hours to Jim or Bob

Trunk Sales – July 27, 2013 – Antenna building demonstrations including 2m and tape measure antenna, vendors are signing up. 3$ for a spot to sell, and $5 for each additional spot. Being called Outdoor Ham Swap. Tape measures could be had cheaply at Harbor Freight.

WebEOC – Training last month was over the replacement software for E-Team. Other classes will be taught into the future.

Skywarn – The plan is to continue having 3 rotating heads for Skywarn nets. Send Jim an email if you are interested in volunteering for either a lead or to be on-call.

ATV – Kits have been groomed.

SET – Multi-State tornado scenario was tested out and Jim attended. We have good ideas and backup, but we don't have the numbers to last for a longer-term event. Jim was the only HAM in the group and many ideas were shared. Other states are interested in using the HAM populations, where they have not used them in the past for emergencies. We are in need of more members. If anyone is known that would be interested, try to bring them in and get to the training. In order to work many of the jobs for the EOCs, RACES membership is required. Future SETs will be advertised for those who are interested in attending.

Lansing Marathon – April 21, 2013 – We are looking for 25-30 Amateur Radio Operators paired with CERT members. The marathon (Sunday) is expected to be larger than last year and increasing in popularity.

Half Marathon in Dansville on Labor Day – Looking for close to 15 people and 4-5 hours. If there is interest, this is not a RACES only event, so any HAMs can help out..

Common Ground – July 8-14, 2013 of July – About 7 people per night are needed to man the shifts.

MSU – April 6-8, 2013 – If MSU makes it to the Final 4, ATV will be requested.

Green and White Game – April 20, 2013 – RACES and tether classes required. There is a possibility that we will be called out for this.

Field Day – The location this year will be Mason. We are working to solicit vendors and businesses for donations for food / materials in order to keep the cost to a minimum.

Website – Skywarn training link has been added to the main page and the calendar. Meeting locations and dates have been updated for 2013 and added to the Calendar.
